Julia Wallace:

Julia Claire Wallace is a Houston based artist that works in a variety of media, including performance, curation, art organization, video, social practice, spoken word, painting and writing. She has performed nationally and internationally with and without permission in a variety of contexts, from art galleries and festivals to bars and grocery stores. She grew up in Houston, Texas and received her BFA in painting from the University of Houston in 2009. She served as a facilitator to Performance Art Lab, one of Houston’s most mischievous art collectives, and was one of the founding members of their guerilla flash dance project sexyATTACK. She was the creator and curator of Houston’s Performance Art Night, an event that strengthened the growing performance art scene in Houston. She also curated “Performance Art Houston” in 2010 at El Rincon Social, a show that brought to light and shifted Houston’s emerging performance art scene. She is currently the founder and co-facilitator of Continuum, a social sculpture consisting of a group of performance artists joined in the aspiration to create a safe and encouraging space to grow through performance art. Her personal art is often a cathartic exploration of desire, the body, and personal experience. Her art described as being shockingly honest, paired with an intimate sincerity. She happily lives in a cozy apartment with her beautiful daughter and her partner, John (the wonderful and talented lead singer/guitarist of the local band Muhammadali).

Jonatan Lopez:

Jonatan Lopez is an interdisciplinary artist living in Houston Texas. His performance and installation works address personal struggles and issues of debate, often becoming self-healing rituals and social experiments seeking to open valuable community dialogue. His sculpture and commercial works employ recycled metals and found objects, ranging from life size figurative sculpture to metal crafts. He experiments with other art forms such as video and sound.

Jonatan has shown at numerous venues in Houston, from alternative art spaces such as Project Row Houses and DiverseWorks ArtSpace to traditional venues like Bayou City Art’s Festival. Jonatan currently co-facilitates Houston’s Performance Art project Continuum, which has aloud him to participate in numerous curatorial projects, most recently their 6 month residency in Houston “Continuum Live Art Series,” aimed at encouraging new performance artists to expand their body of work.

Ryan Hawk:

Ryan Hawk is a visual artist, curator, and arts organizer focusing in performance, video, sculpture, and drawing. Hawk’s work has been shown in several venues throughout New York and Boston such as Grace Exhibition Space and Anthony Greaney, exhibited at Chicago’s Rapid Pulse International Performance Art Festival, Select Industries at Miami Basel 2012, and several international performance art festivals. Ryan Hawk received his BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and is currently a Resident Artist at Box 13 Art Space in Houston, TX.
